If You’re Happy and You Post It…
Post on Facebook. Tweet on Instagram. Upload a video to YouTube. Feel free to do all of those things even if you’ve had a day from hell. The online world is a constant curation of all things “happy”. So why not post your “happy” day?
This distorted view of happiness is making me question my very own sanity.
I’m not going to get into drawn out studies with headlines that scream how we’re all more depressed now that social media has allowed us to filter out the low points.
We’re a lot more filtered than we used to be.
Am I truly happy if I don’t post my life story on Facebook? How can my friends KNOW my marriage is solid unless I’ve posted an update in the past few weeks. Are we still even living together?

No recent photos? Yikes — better do some PR, damage control for the one who has too much time on their hands and starting to question the status of your relationship while creeping your profile.
